Prof. Adanna Henri-Ukoha is an accomplished Agricultural Economist and Researcher working at the intersection of sustainability, climate resilience, and resource economics. With a career dedicated to empowering rural communities her work explores how gender, energy, and food security intertwine with the realities of climate change in Africa.

 

Currently a faculty member and the Immediate past Head of the Department of Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Management at the University of Port Harcourt, Prof. Adanna has led transformative initiatives that improved departmental structures, upgraded academic programs, mentoring over 100 students in agribusiness innovation.

 

Prof. Adanna’s leadership extends beyond academia. Through partnerships with NGOs like HopeInTheJunge, she has trained over 80 women farmers in sustainable agriculture, market access, and funding pathways. Her initiatives such as FarmBoxx and Unique Agribusiness Club have empowered women with climate-smart farming skills, digital literacy, and agribusiness mentorship.

 

As a  proud TechWomen Fellow, she uses her platform to advance STEM education, mentoring secondary school girls in science and technology while advocating for gender equity in agriculture. She has also trained hundreds of educators, researchers, and women across Nigeria in Grant writing, sustainable practices, and digital technologies.

 

Prof. Adanna is passionate about leveraging data-driven insights to create inclusive and resilient agricultural systems. Her life’s work reflects her unwavering commitment to empowering communities, fostering innovation, and promoting sustainability across Africa.
